Dadirri is an Aboriginal word meaning “deep listening”. It describes the process of quieting one’s spirit in order to listen to the deep communications from another’s soul, so that the listener can reflect that storyline to the other person. I use this principle in all three of the skills made available through this page. Songwriting is a way to voice my own life melodies as well as the life melodies of those for whom the song is written. Both require dadirri listening. Tarot reading and counselling also require me to hear the unspoken and voice it aloud.
In my own life I have had several major life melody shifts. I know that changes of melody feel most comfortable when they are voiced aloud. They can be voiced in anticipation (such as when a foreseen change approaches), in the moment of change (at a wedding, for example), or after the event.
This site is a place to share with you the melodies of my life, and an opportunity for me to bring forth the melodies of your life.
